Nooruddin Azizi Travels to Uzbekistan for INNOPROM Central Asia Exhibition
Nooruddin Azizi, Afghanistan's Minister of Industry and Commerce, has made an official trip to the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, for the purpose of participating in the INNOPROM Central Asia international industrial exhibition. This exhibition is aimed at fostering cooperation in the fields of industry, advanced technology, and investment between the participating countries.
Over sixty Afghan companies have also traveled to the event. The companies are active in a range of sectors and are using the exhibition to display their products. The sectors in question are cotton, coal, minerals, medicine, pharmaceuticals, spices, and agricultural products.
The exhibition has drawn representatives from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan to Tashkent.
This trip is occurring as food prices in Afghanistan are increasing. These increases are connected to the closing of trade routes with Pakistan that followed conflicts at the border areas. The United Nations World Food Programme has reported that the prices of some food items have risen by up to forty seven percent.
